Herd Watch

Herd Watch

CENTRAL LOCATION FOR HUMANE OBSERVERS AT ROUNDUPS

Okay, human friends, I need your attention!  Herd watch has organized to provide information so that people can be ready to go to roundups.  The people at BLM really get under my donkey coat, to be sure.  They are so unkind to my cousins, that without good people there to stop them, I fear my cousins will suffer greatly at their hands.  It has been told to me that because we are so smart, the roundups become more uncivilized.  My cousins scatter, and push back at the predator chopper.  For this they are punished.  Harshly.  Brutally.  Please, human friends, I am Miss Abby, a simple domestic donkey.  I have had the good fortune of living where people know how important I am.  My cousins, are living where the people think they are trouble makers.  They just do not know the truth.  My cousins have been a PART OF the ecosystem for many centuries, and have only added to the richness of the soil, and plant life.  Please look at this site for updates on roundups, and for me, Miss Abby, try to attend a few, if not all of them.  My heart and mind are deeply troubled by the actions of these malevolent people from the BLM.  Please stop them.

PLANTS POISONOUS TO EQUINES

Okay, my friends, you know me to be a peaceful, thoughtful, wise donkey.  So, I won't sugar coat this.  These are plants your human needs to keep out of your way.  I know, I know, donkeys are smart, and knowledgeable, but some of your horse friends may need some help with this, so pay attention.  This is very important for all of you to know.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_plants_poisonous_to_equines

Mother's love

My friend Marjorie likes to play around with art.  Sometimes she does portraits of all of us, sometimes she does cartoons.  This portrait is of April, who we all know is a very emotional donkey.  My goodness, Marjorie, you should try a different type of paper, for your detail, don't you think?  I'm a donkey, so my art looks a little different, but my advice is always good............ shhhhhhhhh..... use different paper, Marjorie.

DONKEY THERAPY

My friends in England who have a nice house for lots of my cousins, does this too.  People foals sometimes need for wise donkeys to help them find their way.  We love people foals.   They are almost as cute as donkey foals.  People foals are easy to communicate with, they tune into wise donkeys because they have more empath when they are small.  That is how we operate, we "feel" humans.  We know when you are not a nice human, and we love to help nice humans.  Watch this people foal open up on my cousin's back.  Heeee, hee. hicup *sigh*http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SJyFDPSwR8o&feature=feedrec_grec_index

DONKEY CLUB IN ALPINE, TX!!!!

I am so excited!  My cousins have finally convinced their humans to start a club.  Now, we need to let those humans know what is happening to our family who lives the wild life.  I think that if we can get them to understand how much our wild relatives are being persecuted, they may help to teach peoples about our kind.  It will be exciting to help teach my cousins how to communicate with their humans on this scary issue.  I just  know in my heart, these humans will help us.  Marjorie and Johnny said they would help to give them reading materials.  And, Marjorie also said she would try to have them talk to me on my blog.  I hope they do.  As you peoples know, I am a wise donkey.  And, I am happy to explain why I am right!  I love my new bray translator.  Heee hee chuckle haw.

BARBARA BOXER

I am not a political sort of donkey.  I think most politicians are not worth a hoot.  I also think corporations are running this country.  But, every once in a while a politician will get the donkey hooves up, approval..  Barbara Boxer is on my agenda for a big donkey kiss on the lips with this letter requesting information from Ken (bad man) Salazar.  http://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&pid=sites&srcid=ZGVmYXVsdGRvbWFpbnxhbWVyaWNhbmhlcmRzNHxneDozODUyZDJjOWJkZGQ2NmQ4&pli=1

IN 2009, MY COUSINS WERE ALMOST COMPLETELY WIPED OUT. I AM SO UPSET ABOUT THIS VIDEO OF MY POOR COUSINS. WHAT DID THEY DO?

I can not stand that no one is paying attention to my family in the wild.  This is mean beyond my donkey ability to understand.  I wish my cousins could shoot back.  I know, we are not violent, but...... I am crying.  Miss Abby is crying, and wants to understand why all of our hard work for peoples has not been appreciated.  We give our all to please, and they shoot us.  Why?  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VCuEEo029Fs&feature=youtu.be

SAMBUKA SAYS HELLO TO HIS SON, ALVIN.

Sambuka, who has always been a donkey lovin' kind of guy, strayed from the norm, when he met short eared Hattie.  Well, it must have been the horsenality that got his attention because he strayed from donkeys, and fell for a horse.  Of course, now that Alvin has arrived, the cat is out of the bag.  Sambuka likes short ears.  We donkeys will not hold it against him.  In fact, I am glad he has broadened his horizons hee hee haw!  Congratulations, my friend Sambuka.

ALVIN GETS ALL THE ATTENTION!

Now this is one cute little half ass!

Alvin needs a shave!  Where's my daddy?

NEW BABY AT TODD MISSION RANCH!

What is a donkey to do?  We have a new half ass that was born yesterday.  He is living in the barn now, until he can go out with Abe-Patchy, who is a few months older.  He sure is cute, for a mule.  But, then, his brother is Rodeo, who is a paint prize winning stallion.  Ha ha heee haw ha hee, Rodeo has a half assed, half brother.  I love it.  He thinks he's a donkey anyway.  Now, he has bragging rights to long ears in his family tree.  Lucky horse.

BIG BEND RANCH STATE PARK BURROS~CINDY MCDONALD'S BLOG 2007

In 2007, state official came down from Austin to Big Bend Ranch State Park and shot 71 of my cousins.  I have been so upset by this mean act, I have decided to act.  My friend Marjorie found this blog by Cindy McDonald about what happened that day, and I thought I should share it on my blog.  They are still shooting my cousins, but they are being very sneaky about it.  They need a swift kick in the butt, for sure.  I have mule friends, so those guys in Austin better watch out.  What I did not know was that Sierra Club is encouraging the shooting of burros!  How mean is that?  I do not like Sierra Club, and Marjorie is going to call for me.  Thank you, Cindy.http://americanherdsspecialfeatures.blogspot.com/2007/12/twelve-gifts.html

BURROS MAKE FUN LOVING COMPANIONS

It was so nice to see some of my cousins enjoying the good life.  I noticed that they don't say "no" to food either.  Heee heee hawww!  I'd like to visit that place.

FIRE!!

I don't like fire.  It scares me.  My cousins are in Presideo county, and they are being chased by fire.  I am so worried about them.  But, I know they are smart.  They will get to the river, or follow the canyons.  I just hope they do not get trapped.  This story tell how even the auodad could not outrun these flames.  It says lots of people animals had their homes burned.  Poor, peoples.  http://bigbendnow.com/2011/04/uncontained-wildfire-west-of-town-marfa-is-in-danger/

THE AMERICAN MULE MUSEUM

Fenway Bartholomule may stop by for a visit.  I hope so.  Even though he is just half ass, he is a very cool half ass.  He shared this site with me, and I have got to share it with everybody.  They don't just have mules at Bishop Mule Days.  I sure hope we can enter driving events there, in the very near future.  My friend Jim the mule will love to go with me.  But, of course, Marjorie will do better with me the donkey.  heeee heee haw  I love Jim, but he is only half ass.  He can't help it if I am better at things than him.http://www.facebook.com/pages/American-Mule-Museum-Bishop-CA/142035849192205?sk=wall

BASIN WATCH

This is an important group that keeps an eye out on the very kind of land my cousins love for living.  These precious places are being destroyed for alternative energy purposes.  I am a green energy enthusiast all the way. But, this development is in the best way to do it.  For instance, instead of solar farms in the deserts, why not solar roof tops on buildings.  How about wind towers all around cities where they will be used.  Why do the Earthlings living in the desert need to accommodate the human Earthling's greedy use of energy.http://www.facebook.com/pages/Basin-Range-Watch/134439553260310

MY PHOTO ALBUM SLIDESHOW

There a lots of photos here of my friends at the ranch.  Also, I have some pictures which were taken at Big Bend Ranch State Park of my wild burro cousins, in their element.

VELMA JOHNSTON

I can not think of anyone who played a more important roll in the safety of my ancestors than Wild Horse Annie, also known as Velma Johnston.  I love her as much as I love my friends Marjorie and Johnny.  This is the month for honoring women in history, and I am glad to honor her  .http://ramona.patch.com/articles/velma-johnston-wild-horse-annie

LIVING LEGENDS IN NEVADA

Although this is a very nice article, the author has the number of wild burros remaining much too high.   I do like the advice about not feeding my cousins, because if they're anything like me, they take their treats seriously.  I know I do!  I love my coconut macaroons.  Yummy.  I only get those at shows.  The rest of the time it is carrots and ginger snaps.  Also, yummy!
